Phone numbers

A phone number is what carries real calls to a flow. Numbers have a type:

TypeDescription
naironA number allocated directly from Nairon’s pool.
partnerA number provided through a reseller/managing partner.
externalA number you bring yourself, trunked in via SIP.

From Phone Numbers, either allocate a Nairon-provided number, or (for external) configure your own SIP trunk connection details.

Each number points at one flow. Assigning a number to a flow means the number’s incoming calls will run whichever version of that flow is currently active — changing which flow a number points to, or activating a new version of the same flow, both take effect on the next incoming call (typically within a few seconds of publishing).

A number can be enabled or disabled without unassigning its flow — useful for temporarily pausing a line (e.g. outside business hours handling belongs in the flow itself; disabling the number entirely stops it from ringing through at all).
